Virgil Meares lived a life marked by deep faith, unwavering conviction, and a commitment to transforming lives. From an early age, his path was shaped by a calling to serve God and reach people in meaningful ways.
Born into a legacy of ministry, Virgil was the son of evangelist John L. Meares. As a child, he was exposed to powerful moments of faith through tent meetings led by his father and evangelist Jack Coe in Washington, D.C.’s inner city. These early experiences ignited something profound within him—a hunger to serve God and impact lives.
“I grew up with a hunger in my heart to serve God,” Virgil shared. Even as a young boy, he would wake in the early hours of the morning, listening closely as visiting evangelists spoke about faith. These moments laid the foundation for a life devoted to ministry.
